Cool Hardware Diagnostic Tool!
By: Arie SlobThe hardware diagnostics tool (Hwdiag.exe) which was first included in Windows 95 OSR2, is included in Windows 98. To start, type hwinfo /ui in the Run box on the Start menu.
Hwdiag.exe lists every key in the Windows Registry that refers to hardware in your system. The entries are color-coded:
- Registry entries are displayed in green
- File attributes in magenta
- Configuration Manger information in brown
- Error messages in red
- Warnings are displayed in blue
