Windows 98 Easter Egg; the easy way
By: Arie SlobYou might have heard about the Windows 98 Easter Egg; it requires you to click on several places on the Regional Settings applet in Control Panel; quite a hard thing to do.
Well, here's the easy way to get to the Easter Egg:
- Right-click an empty space on your Desktop, and select New > Shortcut from the menu

Copy the line below in the Command line field:
You need to select all the text. You can do that by placing your cursor in the text-box above; and pressing the Home key on your keyboard to make sure that the cursor is at the left margin. Now, while you hold down the Shift key, press the End key. Right-click with your mouse inside the box (make sure the text is selected) and select Copy from the menu. Once you've done this, you can past the info in the Command line box.
- Press Finish
- Right-click this new shortcut, and from the menu choose Properties
- In the Run field, select Minimized. Also make sure that the Start in field shows C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\WELCOME
