Preview Media Files (in Windows Explorer)
By: Arie SlobIt's possible to "preview" media files (wav, midi, avi, mov, mpg) in Windows Explorer, if you have Internet Explorer 4.x or 5.x installed with the Desktop Update.
- Using Windows Explorer navigate to \Windows\Web, find the file Folder.htt and Open this in Notepad (or your favorite text editor)
- Serach for wantMedia = false and replace this with wantMedia = true (you'll see a warning in that line "cool, but may hinder media file manipulation")
- Now select a folder on your hard drive containing Media Files (Such as \Windows\Media) right-click an empty area and select View > as Web Page, and select a media file!
