Making a Backup of the Registry
By: Arie Slob
-
If you're running in Windows, select Start > Run and in the Open box type scanreg /backup
Please note that you won't notice anything, but the backup is made. You can check the (default) \Windows\Sysbackup folder to check (look for a rb###.cab file with the date/time you made the backup).
- If you're running in MS-DOS mode type: scanreg /backup, at the prompt, this will backup your registry
Scanreg can be customized to include other files to backup. For more information see: Customizing ScanReg
