Microsoft Releases Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 and Internet Tools for Windows Me
Microsoft released Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 and Internet Tools for Windows Me. This version of Internet Explorer includes improved support for DHTML and CSS, which gives Web architects greater control over browser appearance and behavior. Enjoy the ability to preview Web pages exactly as they appear when printed. Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 2 (SP2) makes it easier than ever to connect to the Internet and find the information you need. With Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2, you can use Connection Manager as your default dialer when Dial-Up Networking is already installed.
During installation, you can choose from a list of components that are designed to work with Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2. If you decide you want additional components after installation, return to the Product Updates catalog to download and install them.
If you are running Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me), installing Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 will not change the current level of encryption on your computer.

Note I: Total download size for a typical installation is approximately 17 MB. However, because setup only downloads files that are necessary for your computer, the size may vary between 6 and 17 MB.
Note II: Third-party download managers (for example, Netzip, GetRight, etc.) intercept the download, and cause the installation to stop. To prevent this, disable third-party download managers before running the setup file.
Anti-virus software users: Some anti-virus software programs may interfere with this download. Please disable anti-virus software while installing Internet Explorer.

You can Download [499 KB] the setup file (English), or go to the Microsoft Download site, and select your language (available languages: Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish).
After downloading, execute the ie5setup.exe file, and choose your options for downloading IE5.5 SP2.
