Show all files
By: Arie SlobBy default, Windows will not show files marked as hidden, nor some other specific file types (such as .DLL, .SYS, .VXD, .386 and .DRV. Also file types which are registered with the system (i.e. there is a program associated with the file type), are are shown without extension when you view your files in Windows Explorer.
To see all files (and extensions):
- Open Windows Explorer, and select Options from the View menu
- Click on the View tab, choose Show all files, and press Apply
- Uncheck the check-box for Hide MS-DOS file extensions for file types that are registered
